Meiko (Watanabe Miho) had aspired to be a news announcer, but her dream was shattered. She now works at an event company and teaches part-time at an announcer school. Feeling almost at her wit's end, she finds comfort in the company of "Yukari-kun," Hayama Yukari (Takao Hayato), the only person who listens seriously to her lessons. Secretly attracted to him, the cute, puppy-like young man, Meiko assures her friend, announcer Maki (Hamagishi Hiyori), that he's just a student. One day, Meiko spots Yukari-kun being harassed by some delinquents in town. Just as the delinquents' clutches reach out, Yukari-kun takes a surprising action, shocking her.
