Wanees's Diaries - Season 5 (1997)

After the failure of the desert cultivating project and building Dreamland, Wanis disappears, and his family stays in a hotel. Wanis tries to recover the money that was stolen from him.

Wanis turns to his old friend, Baher, who has become a minister to solve the land problem. As Wanis refuses to use stolen money to get an apartment, the owner gives it to him for free for his honesty.

Wanis and his family move to the new apartment. Youssef discovers that Tharwat has bought a moving nightclub in Italy and wants to place it in the desert land, but he does not know that the state has seized the land.

Wanis discovers Khalil’s plan to divorce Abla from Abdullah to wed her to her wealthy cousin. Abu Al-Fadl meets his childhood friend, Gharib, and asks for his help to find work.

After their divorce, Hossam discovers that Sherine is pregnant. Maysa tries to convince Ezzeldin to back down from his decision to separate from Houria because he's unemployed.

Islah discovers Tahseen's betrayal with Effat. As Abu Al-Fadl works in a bowling alley, Gharib doesn't tell him that he's his boss. As Tharwat returns from Italy, he discovers that the land is gone.

Fou'ad takes advantage of Wanis to obtain financial aid. As Wanis informs the police about Tharwat's warehouse for nightclub equipment, the police find the warehouse empty.

Wanis stands up to Hoda's school because of their desire to cut down trees. Ezzeldin gets a job as a nutrition manager at a hotel. Magdy discovers that Sherine has a fatal disease.

Baher appoints Wanis as his deputy in the governorate. Gharib and Abu Al-Fadl discover that their neighbor Karamela is a famous actress. Abdullah's uncle hides from him that he has a great fortune.

Wanis accepts the position of deputy governor out of his desire to solve the citizens' problems. Sherine gives birth to her child with Hossam. Khalil kicks Abla and Abdullah out of his home.

Khalil discovers that Wasim has no money and is schizophrenic. Abu Al-Fadl becomes angry at Gharib's desire to marry Karamela.

As Fathia dies, Hanan and Abdul Jalil inherit her wealth. As Abdullah's uncle, Shedid, dies, Abdullah and Abla find a lot of money in his bags. Wanis suffers because he feels that all those around him are exploiting him for his position.

Abu Al-Fadl discovers that his manager in the bowling alley is Gharib. Khalil tries to take advantage of the great wealth that Abdullah has acquired. When Tharwat goes to return the money of the land to Wanis, his colleagues suspect that he's taking bribes.

It's revealed that Sherine faked her illness and deceived Hossam to avenge herself and Mo'taza. Gharib and Abu Al-Fadl compete for Karamela's love. Sharafuddin asks Wanis to go with him to propose to Shahenda. Abdullah buys a tea factory.

After Wanis helps the homeless children and transports them to Laila's shelter, the children escape. Hossam plots to remove Wanis from his position in the governorate and obtain the nightclub licenses.

Maysa tries to help Wanis in his work by establishing a charity home for the elderly. Sherine tells Wanis about Hossam's plan to remove him from his job. The children return to Laila's shelter.

As Ezzeldin starts his movie career, he waits for the release of his film, only to discover that the director has deceived him. Karamela tells Gharib and Abu Al-Fadl that she's married to get them to stop their rivalry over her. Tharwat divorces Madiha.

As Wanis visits Abdullah's factory, he finds out that the tea is spoiled. The police arrest Khalil. Sherif accuses Wanis in front of Baher of profiting from his position. Gharib and Abu Al-Fadl cause Karamela to be fired from the new movie.

Hossam gets around the law and obtains a license to open the nightclub. Baher refuses to accept Wanis' resignation from his position. Ezzeldin and Sharafuddin travel to Mexico.

As rumors spread in the press about a relationship between Karamela and Wanis, Karamela resorts to accepting to marry Gharib to discredit the rumors. Tharwat plans to sell the nightclub to Laila to turn it into an art theater.

Gharib confesses to Abu Al-Fadl and Karamela that he concealed from them that he's divorced with three children. Ezzeldin returns from Mexico with his brother after discovering that the work contract was on an illusion.

Maysa opens the Society for Kindness to Grandparents. Gharib discovers that his daughters have filed an interdiction case to get his fortune. Jihad and Zakaria get married.

Sharafuddin becomes jealous because of Wa'el's desire to propose to Hosnyia. Wanis misses Jihad after her marriage. Wanis is shocked when he learns that his son Ezzeldin works in Hossam's nightclub.

Wanis refuses to help Ezzeldin by providing him with an apartment from the governorate in exchange for leaving his work in the nightclub. Islah forces Metaw' to divorce Olfat. The vice squad arrests Hossam in the nightclub.

Laila buys the nightclub to convert it into an art theater for the children of the shelter. As Khalil goes to Wanis to ask for Hosnyia's hand for Wa'el, Wanis refuses. Sharafuddin informs his father of his desire to drop out of medical school.

As Zakaria agrees to Wa'el and Hosnyia's engagement, Wanis stands up to him. Ezzeldin marries Houria before they travel to work. Wanis and Maysa receive the news of Jihad's pregnancy.

Islah causes a wedge between Maysa and Wanis after telling her of his intention to marry Laila; Maysa leaves the house and stays with Jihad. Tharwat tries to exploit Wanis' position to demolish his factory by order from the governorate and obtain a large compensation.

Wanis refuses Tharwat's demands to demolish the textile factory. As Wanis ends up staying alone with Hoda after everyone abandons him, he goes to Maysa on their wedding anniversary to mend their relationship and bring her back home.

Maysa provides a job for Ezzeldin at the Society for Kindness to Grandparents. The party for the children's shelter is a success. As Wanis resigns from the position of Deputy Governor, he nominates Sherif to succeed him.

Wanis gets his job back at Youssef's company. Maysa and Wanis experience a new family feeling with the arrival of their grandchildren.
