1. Smoke Rings
A chimp who blows smoke rings appears on Dick's talk show; Dick smokes along with the chimp on air. After the show, Dick realizes he is hooked on smoking again and solicits help from his wife and family, also struggling with the habit.
2. A Star Ain't Born
Dick gets invited to Hollywood for a screen test to become a co-star on a new TV show. Dick prepares for the test but doubts his ability to become an actor.
3. Mid-term Dinner
Dick and Jenny are happy that 16 year old son Dan is bringing a girlfriend to dinner. But when Dan appears with Judy, an African American, the senior members of the family must examine their beliefs.
4. Everything from 'A to Z'
Annie takes an inappropriate book to school that was intended for Dick to discuss on his talk show.
5. The Tennis Pro
Dick becomes jealous of Jenny's tennis instructor. Skip and Jenny play doubles at the club, winning every game. When their babysitter gets sick, Dick volunteers to stay home with Annie. Skip brought a bottle of sparkling wine and Dick drinks it all.
6. A House Is Not a Home, Yet
Jenny puts a down-payment on house the Preston's regard as their dream house.
7. The Replacement
To improve Dick's ratings, sidekick Danny is added to the show, which proves too successful. Dick, suffering from a cold, fears that he will be replaced. When Dick's doctor tells him to stay home to recover, Danny fills in for him. Carl Reiner appears as himself.
8. Queasy Rider
Dick decides to get a motorcycle, much to Jenny's dismay.
9. The Storm
The Prestons end up with a house full of unexpected guests when a violent storms strands people. This includes a priest and a nun turning sleeping arrangements into a difficult situation.
10. The Conductor and the Lady
A famous conductor who is a guest on Dick's show is invited to the Preston's for dinner.

An ever-helpful Dick promises a young starlet a world record. To Jenny's dismay, the record is for the longest TV kiss.
14. Pepito from Mexico
Someone's playing Robin Hood with the Prestons' items. Unfortunately, it seems to be an inside job.
15. Bernie Did It
After fighting with his business manager, Dick must negotiate his own contract with the station manager.
16. Annie Get Your Bike
This flashback episode focuses on the calamities that ensue when Jenny goes into labor. Also, Annie feels ignored because of the baby's arrival; and Lucas falls off his new bike, breaking his nose.

Already nervous about impending fatherhood Dick is concerned when Jenny brings home Debbie, a pregnant hitchhiker.
19. The Split
Dick plays marriage counselor when Bernie and Carol split up over the issue of having children.
20. The Harry Award
Dick is excited when he learns he's to receive a prestigious award. But Dick changes his attitude after learning the presentation is held at a country club that practices racial discrimination leaving him with a dilemma.

When the talent for the television station's telethon doesn't show up, it's up to Dick and the gang to carry it off.

Dick agrees to a drinking test for his show, that shows the evils of drinking, but while under the influence he says a few things about marriage that Jenny does not find funny

To Dick's embarrassment, a man who is a guest on his show announces that he was Jenny's first husband.

When the house next to the Preston's comes up for sale, it's hard for them to admit they don't want Bernie and Carol to buy it.
