The Island Plot
The Island is the 16th season of the MTV reality game show, The Challenge. The season is directly subsequent to The Gauntlet III. Like previous seasons of The Challenge, The Island featured cast members from various past seasons of The Real World and Road Rules, of which The Challenge was a spun off from, competing along with several cast members from the Fresh Meat challenge. This season featured the contestants "stranded" on an island off the coast of Panama, where the cast competed for a buried treasure chest filled with $300,000 USD in gold. Unlike in previous Challenges, the cast was not housed in a luxurious dwelling, but was "forced" to improvise and "work" for the basic necessities of food and shelter, as on the TV series Survivor. Unlike previous seasons of The Challenge, there were no predetermined teams. Instead, the cast members had to forge their own alliances. Of the twenty cast members, there were only four winners. The Island premiered on September 10, 2008, and concluded on October 29, 2008.

The Island Episodes
1. Welcome To The Island
The competitors are caught in a loop when host TJ Lavin leaves them stranded on a deserted island to figure out the new rules for this season's RW/RR Challenge.
2. Calling It Quits
When things get tough on The Island, the competitors start to break one by one and contemplate throwing in the towel on this RW/RR Challenge.
3. Girl Fight
It's time for a ladies to face-off and they're all stepping up to the plate to secure their spot on 'The Island.'
4. Are You A Quitter?
A cut foot could hurt Ashli's chance of winning a key if she doesn't watch her back.
5. Ev vs. The Island
The rules are always changing on 'The Island' and the alliance can no longer ignore Evelyn.
6. Island King
The alliance takes back their strong hold on the game and officially crowns Johnny as the Island King.
7. Down To The Wire
Chances of winning a key are dwindling and the alliance is about to be taken by surprise.
8. Sailing to Victory
When the tables turn on the alliance again, key holders get scared and scramble to bury old hatchets and make new alliances before the final boat race to the 300,000 dollar prize.
9. Reunion
Hosted by Carlos Santos from MTV Tres. The cast members who attended were Johanna, Paula, Kenny, Derrick, Johnny, Evelyn, Ryan, Jenn, KellyAnne and Robin.
