Season 49 Plot
Twenty-five years after it first premiered, Survivor continues to prove both the ultimate test of physical and mental will, as well as the adventure of a lifetime, for castaways stranded on the beaches of Fiji and tasked with forming a new society, adapting to their surroundings and navigating an unpredictable social game to ensure their torch stays lit. The players competing on the 49th season are diverse competitors armed with fresh perspectives and a fervent passion for the game, with the same ultimate goal: to claim the title of Sole Survivor and win the $1 million prize.

1. Act One of a Horror Film
Eighteen strangers are abandoned on the islands of Fiji with the chance to win $1 million; tribes must claim victory in the grueling marooning challenge to earn essential camp supplies; castaways are chosen to face off with a huge reward on the line.
2. Cinema
Reality and hunger begin to take their toll as the castaways grapple with their limited resources to find food on the island. Generational differences come into sharp focus as some castaways find it challenging to keep up with the younger players’ current lingo. Then, a never-before-seen disadvantage appears in the game during this week’s immunity challenge.
3. Lovable Losers
An unprecedented medical emergency leaves the castaways shaken. A second beware advantage is found in the game, and it's finder must earn their vote back before it’s too late.
4. Go Kick Rocks, Bro
An unexpected shakeup shifts the castaways' game trajectories in an all-new direction. Teammates must rely on one another to succeed in a grueling immunity and reward challenge.
5. I'm a Wolf, Baby
One castaway's scheming gets them into hot water when their tribe realizes the same conversation has been repeated to each of them. Two castaways are sent on a grueling journey. Then, one castaway’s series of missteps leaves one of their tribemates hungry for revenge.
6. The Devil's Shoes
A major shakeup hits the game when two tribes turn to three. New tribe members size each other up, but with only four players on each tribe, there is not much room to hide. Then, heat and exhaustion take a major toll on one castaway.
7. Blood Will Be Drawn
A boat arrives delivering a very important message to the overjoyed castaways; old alliance members reconvene to talk strategy; the game intensifies when a two-part challenge leads to the season's first individual immunity win.
8. Hot Grim Reaper
After tribal council's most recent idol play, castaways set out on a defensive idol search; one of the game's toughest antagonists breaks down and shares a side of vulnerability with their tribemates.
9. If You're Loyal to All, You're Loyal to None
Stakes increase for this week's immunity challenge when two immunity necklaces are up for grabs; one player's not-so-hidden immunity idol comes into focus during this week's tribal council.
10. Huge Dose of Bamboozle
The fatiguing nature of the game is highlighted as some castaways hit their personal breaking points; one castaway is left visibly shaken after being left out of the vote; an epic blindside takes place at tribal council.
11. Cherry On Top
Revenge is a dish best served cold when one castaway tries to get back at the person who eliminated their day one. One castaway's journey becomes a race against mother nature to outrun the tides. Then, a new version of a familiar challenge stands between castaways and the immunity necklace.
12. The Die Is Cast
With the biggest reward of the season on the line, one member of a newly established alliance hopes to earn the extra sustenance to propel themselves further in the game; one alliance member must decide if they should flip against one of their own.
13. A Fever Dream
Castaways must find where X marks the spot when a boat arrives containing instructions for an advantage for the final-5 immunity challenge.
