Season 2026 Episodes
1. Pulp
Radio 2’s Piano Room month is back and to kick it off in style alongside the BBC Concert Orchestra is Jarvis Cocker and the legendary pop-rock band Pulp. They’ll be performing x3 tracks including a cover by Abba which sounds more like a Pulp track than a Pulp track.
2. Melanie C
Radio 2’s Piano Room Month is back and we are joined by a genuine global superstar, she’s sold an incredible 130 million records worldwide and has co-written a record-breaking ELEVEN 11 number one hits, both as a group member and as a solo artist. Melanie C is here, performing alongside the BBC Concert Orchestra for a superb session.
3. James
Joining the BBC Concert Orchestra in today’s Piano Room are one of the most successful British Bands of the last forty years. They’ve sold more than 30 million albums in that time and are as popular as ever, with the biggest arena tour of their career coming in April. Performing an extraordinary version of ‘She’s A Star’ and two other amazing tracks, here are the wonderful, James.
4. Macy Gray
Joining us in the Radio 2 Piano Room is a Grammy-winning American singer who broke through to the mainstream in 1999 and since then she’s released ten studio albums, alongside acting roles in Hollywood blockbusters like Training Day and Spiderman. Today, accompanied for the first time by the BBC Concert Orchestra. with her iconic voice, it’s Macy Gray.
5. Darius Rucker
Joining us in the Radio 2 Piano Room is the American singer, musician and songwriter Darius Rucker. He first found fame 30 years ago as the lead singer of Hootie & The Blowfish, selling 20 million copies of their debut album. Today, accompanied for the first time by the BBC Concert Orchestra, he demonstrates how he took on and conquered Nashville.
6. Mumford & Sons
Joining the BBC Concert Orchestra in today’s Radio 2 Piano Room are the Grammy award winning Mumford & Sons, 17 years after their first session at iconic Maida Vale studios. Since then, the band have enjoyed record-breaking chart success and built a global following. Vernon Kay welcomes Marcus and the band back for a standout set, featuring the classic ‘The Cave’, their new release ‘The Banjo Song’, a striking cover of Taylor Swift’s ‘Cowboy Like Me’, plus an additional bonus track of 'White Blank Page'.
7. Alison Limerick
Vernon Kay welcomes dance music icon Alison Limerick to the Radio 2 Piano Room, joined by the BBC Concert Orchestra. Thirty-five years after her breakthrough, she performs her classic Where Love Lives, new song Sister Mother Child and a special cover of Ed Sheeran’s Shivers.
8. Mika
International pop sensation and former Eurovision host Mika joins the BBC Concert Orchestra in the Piano Room. Expect a vibrant performance showcasing one of his biggest hits, a future classic and standout cover.
