It is November 1956. Esther and Gran live quietly together in their north London house - much to Gran's frustration. She despairs of Esther ever finding a husband. Then Esther's encounter with a stranger promises to overturn their lives.
2. Episode 2

Esther- and Gran -have finally found the man of their dreams. Though Esther recognises that her experience with men is limited, she starts to become concerned by Raymond's odd behaviour.
3. Episode 3

Esther has become increasingly aware of Raymond's odd behaviour. On holiday in Eastbourne their troubles reach a climax.
