Season 1 Plot
Losing Myself is an intimate portrait of individuals living with medical conditions that erode their sense of self. Each episode explores a particular aspect important to the formation of our identity - personality, expression, memories, consciousness, emotions and the physical body. The documentary series follows the journey of these individuals as they pick themselves up despite their losses.

Season 1 Episodes
1. Voices In The Head
Born with hearing loss, there is a symphony of personalities residing within Mamat. Six months ago, the 31-year-old had a sudden change in personality. He now identifies with a 5-year-old who cannot be separated from a soft toy. At the height of her disorder, inside Valerie's mind can be a complex world of thoughts and voices. But Valerie and Mamat are both on a pursuit to find their true selves.
2. Expressions
At nine years old, Nigel Ng was diagnosed with a form of extreme anxiety disorder that made him unable to speak. With vocal cords paralysed by fear, Nigel was unable to make friends and was ostracised in school. Tan Chai Huat lost his ability to express himself overnight due to a language disorder caused by a stroke. Left with no words, the two embarked on their journeys to reclaim their voices.
3. Physical Body
10 years ago, singer Leon Markcus started restricting his diet. With a daily intake of two slices of pineapple while working out excessively, Leon's weight plummeted to 45kg. Diagnosed with Tourette syndrome, photographer Samuel Lim battles with involuntary tics that made him a target of bullying. Despite their conditions, both Leon and Samuel are adamant to heal themselves and chase their dreams.
4. Consciousness
Jonathan Yap can fall asleep at any time due to a rare sleeping disorder called narcolepsy. Jin Yuan has a brain tumour that causes him to have epileptic attacks that leaves him unconscious. Despite holding an honours degree in accountancy, he has not been able to find a full time job since he graduated. How do they grapple with losing consciousness unexpectedly and redefine the purpose of life?
5. Memory
Diagnosed with early onset dementia at 48, Andi sometimes forgets his name, and even has difficulty remembering his wife of 20 years. But Andi and his wife have found a new way to live with deeper love and meaning. An accident left Tan Kok Liang with injuries so massive that he lost half of his brain’s storage capacity and memories. Yet, it did not deter him from becoming a lighthouse for others.
6. Emotions
Plagued by depression, Lisa Chan has turned to self-harm and even thoughts of suicide. But her father stood by her through it all, as she worked her way to find the purpose to live. For more than a decade, Daryl Tan lives a life of high highs and low lows as he suffers from bipolar disorder. But a chance encounter brought him a connection that brings him solace in the delicate healing journey.
