Little Spirou - Season 1 (2012)

When Mamy comes for a visit, Little Spirou is told to wear the pullover she knitted for him. But it’s hideous and really scratchy! There’s no way he’s going to wear the horrible thing! Unfortunately, wool is indestructible: Spirou doesn’t succeed in getting it dirty or even having it eaten up by the garbage truck! He tries to lose it… but his name is sewn into the back! Even when Uncle Holy Man exorcizes it, it’s no use… If only Mamy would knit him something else. It couldn’t be any worse… Could it?

Mama has made… RICE PUDDING! Yuck, Little Spirou and Grand-Pop hate it! They come up with all sorts of reasons why they can’t eat it: they say rice and milk rots their teeth, and at night, it turns into a big, sticky monster! Since Mama doesn’t seem to believe them, Little Spirou invites Munchalot, the greediest of his friends, over. His mission? To gobble up the awful dessert ‘incognito’.

Since Leopold is trying to worm his way into the affections of HIS Suzette, Little Spirou decides to seduce her first. But how? Should he show off? Take a love potion? Everything he tries goes horribly wrong! When Suzette invites Leopold to the movies, it’s the final straw! Little Spirou decides to confront Leopold: but will he be able to get HIS Suzette back?!

Little Spirou has a big problem: his report card this month is a disaster! How will he stop Mama finding out? With a timely theft? A providential shower to blur the ink? Could he have the neighbor’s dog chew it to bits? After coming up with a thousand different strategies, Little Spirou soon realizes there’s no better plan than telling the truth!

Little Spirou and his friends find out there are Brussels sprouts on the menu at the school canteen. Ew! Little Spirou decides he has to escape this torture any way he can, but it’s far from easy, since that day, the Principal in person is supervising the kids’ lunch… he’ll never believe Little Spirou’s allergic; hiding the sprouts won’t be easy; and even Munchalot can’t eat all the sprouts in the whole canteen. But everything changes when Suzette announces she loves sprouts…

Little Spirou, Virgil and Munchalot are playing with the pirate ship they’ve built. Unfortunately, then Master comes over with Victor, his 2-year old brother.

Little Spirou can’t wait to give Virgil a really classy present for his birthday. The only problem is that Mama has already bought a gift: a 2000 piece jigsaw puzzle. What a lousy present: Little Spirou would rather have given him a baseball cap with Captain Magimax on it! He would like to exchange the puzzle at the store, but the receipt’s gone missing… Since he can’t get rid of the inconvenient gift, Little Spirou resolves to give it to Virgil… Wouldn’t it be funny if it turned out to be the most original present of all?

Little Spirou comes out of the dentist’s with his jaw so swollen up, he can’t speak… He tries to find a way he can avoid his new look making him the laughing stock of the whole school: he'll tell people he's the guinea pig for a secret scientific experiment, or that he's wearing a mask, or even that he's been speaking very sophisticated French, which requires a lot of jaw work... Mamy's extra sticky biscuits end up providing a wonderfully timely way to cover up the truth!

When the Principal comes to talk to Spirou’s class about headlice, Little Spirou realizes he already has them! He tries everything to get out of the rugby match he's due to play, and imagines arriving in a diving suit, or with his head shaved... But that's not the right solution to this problem. Little Spirou ends up going to the school nurse, and discovers there's a really easy fix-it for headlice: shampoo! They really weren’t anything to worry about!

Little Spirou hates having a bath, especially at Mamy’s house, since she's so obsessed with cleanliness. So, because of a badly closed window, Little Spirou ends up getting stuck outside, totally naked! How will he get out of this one? Should he hide in the bushes? Steal some clothes off the washing line next door? Disguise himself as the ‘Manneken-Pis’ to get some attention? Luckily, Mamy’s neighbor comes and protects his modesty, even if she does force him to take a bath!

Little Spirou calls on Virgil to help him out: he has to look after the neighbor's baby. Only the baby in question is not a 'real' baby. It’s a big, cheerful, energetic, drooling dog called Baby! Little Spirou and Virgil struggle to control the mutt. It keeps getting away from them, risks breaking everything in the house, and jumps at any opportunity to escape…

Like every Sunday, Little Spirou, Grandpop and Mama are having lunch at Mamy's house. And like every Sunday, after their meal, Mamy insists they play a never-ending game of Little Horses. It’s an absolute must! Until now, nobody has ever dared try to wriggle out of it. But today, Spirou has decided to put an end to playing Little Horses. Enough of Mamy’s old-fashioned game! He plans to do ANYTHING IT TAKES to replace it…

After a phenomenal but messy snack at Little Spirou’s best friend Virgil’s house, a big clean-up is necessary before Virgil's mother comes back from her grocery shopping. Little Spirou and friends have to use Virgil’s Mom’s high-tech T1000 vacuum cleaner,

Jim Bridle blackmails Spirou’s Grandpopwith some ‘compromising’ photos: he swears to Little Spirou, he’ll reveal Grandpop’s secret in front of the WHOLE school if Li'l Spirou doesn’t do his every bidding. Little Spirou is thus forced to create all kinds of mischief under his orders... Virgil tries to help him get the secret envelope with the photos in it back, only it's no use... But what if Grandpop's secret wasn't so bad after all?

In the Middle Ages, people thought that having red hair meant you were a witch?! Since Miss Countoff explained this, Little Spirou has been the laughing stock of his whole class. He therefore decides to hide his hair any way he can: donning a swimming cap, getting his head shaved, going to the hairdresser's... In the end, Grandpop tells him having red hair is nothing to be ashamed of. There are lots of famous people with red hair, after all…

Little Spirou invites Virgil over to play video games, and try out a new one. But no sooner have they settled down in his room, than they hear a HORRIBLE noise. It’s Grandpop. His girlfriend Gourmandine has given him a saxophone so that he can play her some romantic music. And Grandpop has promised to practice until he becomes a VERY good player. Exasperated at the idea of having to listen to this terrible racket, Little Spirou decides to do WHATEVER it takes to shut up Grandpop’s saxophone for good…

Little Spirou likes Mamy, but isn't so keen on her gross, heady perfume! It's so strong that it's been killing off anything animal, vegetable or mineral around her within an hour!! The worst thing is that after Mamy kisses him, Little Spirou stinks of her horrible perfume: How will he get by with such a nasty odor? Should he dive into a pile of trash or a pond full of frogs…?

After setting off for school in a big rush... Little Spirou is horrified to realize that he has left his bathing suit in his sports bag. He can already see himself pulling on the awful spare bathing suit which the sports teacher keeps aside for the absent-minded – a very flattering thing covered in flowers, which is too big and totally ridiculous. Little Spirou is going to need a solution before class starts, so that he doesn’t embarrass himself in front of Suzette and all the other girls in his class.

Little Spirou is playing a soccer match with his friends. But Virgil kicks the ball through the basement window of a house which looks like it’s haunted! Scared stiff, Spirou, Virgil and Cassius go to try and get their ball back, one dressed in armour, and another disguised as a monster to scare the creature which is shrieking so horribly down in the basement… But maybe the monster is not so terrible and all the drama is a big fuss about nothing!

Little Spirou accidentally tears his pants, revealing his underwear to all and sundry… how embarrassing! What can he do so his friends don’t realize? Hug the walls all day? Tape over the hole? Staple it up? Little Spirou ends up finding himself a pretty fashionable ‘fix-it’… and soon the others all want one too!!!

Little Spirou and the other boys in his class are getting undressed in the swimming pool changing room when a nasty smell suddenly creeps up on them. How embarrassing! It looks like Little Spirou has stinky feet! What can he do? A quick wash is unfortunately not enough to get rid of the smell, and when Little Spirou gets into the pool… HIS Suzette is right next to him. He’s sure that if Suzette finds out about his odor issue, she will NEVER speak to him again, so he tries to hide his feet any way he can.

There’s an epidemic of chicken pox at the moment at school. According to Virgil, chicken pox is a terrible disease: it turns you into a real monster, and people make fun of you. How can Little Spirou escape this plague? By wearing a diving mask? By never opening his mouth? By hiding at the top of a tree? By getting rid of his contaminated clothes and catching the worst cold he’s ever had because he hung around in his underwear in the rain? Little Spirou may avoid the chicken pox, but can’t get around making a fool of himself…
