In 2017, the WannaCry epidemic swept around the globe. Malicious software that spread incredibly fast and encrypted computers, making no difference between victims. A cybersecurity researcher registered a URL which he found in the code of the program – and suddenly the epidemic stopped. Our second mini-series will tell the story of WannaCry, the researcher who stopped it and will ask where the modern, digital frontier is between good and evil, between Blackhat and Whitehat.
