Devon Ke Dev...Mahadev - Season 9 (2012)

Brahma informs Narad that Parvati and Mahadev’s son will come into existence and maintain the balance in the universe. Parvati’s new son is created and calls her mother.

Parvati explains to Vinayak that he has come into existence to remove the troubles of the world. Everyone congratulates Parvati, who is upset by Mahadev’s absence. She accepts Indradev’s apology.

Parvati promises the Sant Kumars that they will be Vinayak's teachers. She assigns Nandi and the Shivgans to take care of Vinayak. Meanwhile, Devsena is in a dilemma about expressing her feelings to Kartikay.

Vinayak orders the rats to steal laddoos for him but they get caught by the Shivgans. Parvati decides to send Vinayak to study, but Narad advises her to wait till Mahadev’s return.

Brahma informs Saraswati of Mahadev’s return after completing his Tapasya. Kartikay is displeased with Vinayak’s birth, while Lord Brahma and Lord Vishnu discuss Vinayak with Mahadev.

Parvati prepares to welcome Mahadev back. She orders Vinayak to guard the door while she takes a bath. Vinayak orders the rats to bring laddoos for him.

The deities are thrilled with Mahadev’s return. Mahadev proceeds to meet Parvati but Vinayak, guarding the door, stops him from meeting her because he has to uphold the promise he made to his mother.

Nandi and the Shivgans fail to convince Vinayak to let Mahadev meet Parvati. Vinayak challenges all of them to dislodge him and reach Parvati. They all fail.

Vinayak defies the gods and defeats them. They seek Mahadev’s help. He orders Vinayak to stop the battle, but the obstinate son attacks Mahadev. An angry Mahadev beheads Vinayak with his trident.

Parvati is devastated as Mahadev kills Vinayak. She becomes furious and starts destroying the universe when Mahadev informs her that he cannot revive her son. Mahadev fixes an elephant’s head to Vinayak’s body.

Parvati apologises for putting the world in danger and Vinayak apologises for his angry behaviour. Vishnu assures Parvati that people will worship Vinayak in his new form. Devsena reveals to Kartikay that she was sent by Indradev to trap him.

Parvati and Mahadev offer their blessings to Vinayak. Mahadev changes Vinayak’s name to Ganesha. Vishnu announces that Ganesha will also be known as Mangal Murti. Meanwhile, Baamdev curses Gandharvaraj for not obeying him.

Parvati prepares modaks for Ganesha while Mahadev enlightens him about spirituality. Meanwhile, Baamdev curses Gandharvaraj and turns him into a rat. Brihaspati advises him to proceed to Kailash. Mahadev awaits Kartikay’s visit to Kailash.

Ganesha gifts Mahadev a dress. He requests Mahadev to wear it and Mahadev gladly does so. Ganesha, Parvati and the Shivgans are astonished to see Mahadev dressing up.

Ganesha rescues people from a wicked rat’s terror and brings it before Mahadev for punishment. Mahadev sentences the rat to be Ganesha’s mode of transport.

Ghushm, a worshipper of Mahadev, loses her son, who is killed by her sister out of jealousy. Even during her son’s death, she worships Mahadev, who is impressed by her devotion. He revives her son and establishes Ghushmeshwar Jyotirling.

Ganesha visits the villages and orders the rats to arrange for some food. He then learns that there is scarcity of food in the village and decides to prepare kheer for the villagers. The villagers show their gratitude to Ganesha.

Mahadev enlightens the Rishis about spiritual knowledge. Parvati teaches Ganesha the importance of worship. Ganesha decides not to have food until he completes his worship. Meanwhile, Daruka prays to Parvati seeking a boon for the demons.

Parvati becomes impressed by Daruka’s worship and grants her a boon. She makes Daruka the ruler of Daruka Van. Meanwhile, Ganesha refuses to have food until Mahadev gives him what he wants.

Daruka takes advantage of Parvati’s blessings and behaves ruthlessly with Mahadev’s devotees. The devotees seek Mahadev’s help. In the meantime, Ganesha expresses his desire to meet his siblings.

Ganesha leaves Kailash to meet Ashok Sundari. He promises to bring Ashok Sundari with him to Parvati. Meanwhile, Daruka orders her soldier to kill Mahadev's devotees. Mahadev comes to their aid and warns Daruka, who in turn, prays to Parvati.

Parvati is angry with Daruka for misusing the boon and advises her to seek Mahadev’s forgiveness. While Mahadev establishes Nageshwar Jyotirlinga, Ganesha learns that Ashok Sundari is doing Tapasya to marry Nahush. He goes to Nahush’s palace with the proposal and is insulted.

Ayu apologises to Ganesha, who puts forth Ashok Sundari’s proposal. Ayu requests Ganesha to meet Nahush and discuss it with him. Meanwhile, Mahadev assures Parvati that Ganesha will bring back Ashok Sundari.

Nahush and his parents meet Ashok Sundari. Ayu promises to get Nahush married to Ashok Sundari when he becomes eligible for marriage. Mahadev is impressed by his devotees Aahuk and Aahuka and grants them a boon that they will take birth as King Nal and Queen Damayanti.

Parvati and Mahadev are excited to welcome Ashok Sundari back to Kailash. Mahadev sets off to bring Kartikay back to Kailash. He then informs a dejected Kartikay that he had an irreplaceable place in their hearts.

Indradev feels threatened about Kartikay and Ganesha’s reunion. He incites Kartikay against his family. While Kartikay rebukes Indradev for his selfishness, Mahadev warns Ganesha against angering Kartikay. Meanwhile, Bali arranges a Mahayagya.

Kartikay arrives in Kailash and is happy to be reunited with his family. He gets jealous when Mahadev describes Ganesha’s greatness. Later, Ganesha and Kartikay decide to race.

Mahadev warns Indradev not to cross his limits. Kartikay enlightens Ganesha with knowledge of war and brags about himself. Mahadev asks his sons not to let anybody disturb his meditation.

Parshuram comes to Mahadev but Ganesha denies him entry. Kartikay introduces Parshuram to Ganesha, who offers his apologies but still denies entry. An angry Parshuram attacks Ganesha.

After Ganesha's trunk is broken, a guilty Parshuram asks Mahadev to punish him for attacking his son. Vishnu suggests that Ganesha should be worshipped before everyone. Kartikay disapproves of the decision. Parshuram declares that Ganesha will write an epic with his broken tusk.

Ganesha and Kartikay prepare for the race. During the race, Indradev cheats by capturing Kartikay. Meanwhile, Ganesh worships the Shivaling. Kartikay completes the race, but Mahadev announces Ganesha as the winner.

Mahadev is impressed with Ganesha and announces that he will be worshipped before any of the deities. Kartikay objects to his father’s decision and leaves Kailash.

Ganesha assures a worried Parvati that he will bring Kartikay back. Mahadev orders Kartikay to return to Kailash. Kartikay feels guilty after Ganesha consoles him and vows to return to Kailash after he makes amends.
