The Hybrids have been eradicated. The new CSA has retaken all of its colonies. Their final mission: retake U.N-controlled California.

John's identity is revealed as loyalties are tested when Ben carries out his personal agenda.

Father John wrestles with helping Leo's troubled family against the United Nations' peacekeepers, while a CSA reunion is cut short due to competing factions.

Fr. John is visited by an old friend. Elsewhere, the CSA plots its next move under LtCol Thetis's leadership as SGT "Wilkie" is suspected of losing Major Courtney to the enemy.

The battle lines are drawn when the 42nd marches onto the U.N.'s California-Nevada border, as a mysterious phenomenon places the world at a standstill.
