1. Episode 1
John starts his journey pondering why the word bard appears in so many place names right across the country. Emmett Kirwan, Pat Shortt and Hugh Wallace all bump into John on his travels across Ireland in episode one, from Tallaght, to Tipperary, and Waterford to the Beara Peninsula.
2. Episode 2
John Creedon finds himself in the Lost Valley of Mayo, where he makes the link between the importance of Irish place names and those of all indigenous cultures. He meets Claire Young, a Choctaw scholar with Irish roots, and musician Liam Ó Maonlaí and together they explore the bond between cultures striving to return to their roots having suffered foreign domination
3. Episode 3
John Creedon travels around Ireland’s border regions, with Clannad star Moya Brennan revealing the mythological origins of Donegal’s Poisoned Glen. Former Northern Ireland first minister Arlene Foster takes the host to her childhood home of Aghadrumsee, Co Fermanagh, while John ends his journey in Lough Gowna to hear about a village with two names
