1. Soweto
Clive experiences the South African crazes for car spinning and car wash parties and meets the granddaughter of Nelson Mandela, the man who inspired him to become a journalist.
2. Durban
Clive gets onto the anti-poaching front line protecting South Africa’s magnificent rhino and tries to stay upright as he takes to the ocean with a surf school for street kids.
3. Cape Town
Clive lends a hand at a penguin rehab centre, jams with up-and-coming jazz talent Q Ntshinka and learns the art of Cape Malay cooking in the city’s colourful Bo-Kaap district.
4. Accra
Clive gets a restyle at one of the world’s biggest second-hand markets, learns Ghanaian grooves from Beyonce video star Dance God Lloyd and learns the art of fantasy coffins.
5. Cape Coast
Clive learns about his family story on an emotional visit to a former slave fort, before getting a big celebratory welcome (and a new name) from the elders of the Fante people.
6. Lagos
In Lagos, one of Africa’s largest cities, Clive gets a workout in the downtown street market, heads for the studio with local musicians and experiences the vibrancy of Nigerian art.
7. Abeokuta
Clive gets hands on to create authentic tie-and-dye adire clothes, finds out what sport is taking the country by storm and experiences how Nigerians throw a birthday party.
8. Marrakech
Clive travels to Marrakesh, the Red City, known for its distinctive architecture. He learns how to create the most stunning Moroccan tile mosaics and stays overnight in the Atlas Mountains.
9. Casablanca
Clive trains with some of the country’s best young footballers and gets on his bike to ride the streets with a Moroccan female motorcycle gang.
10. Tangier
On Morocco’s northern tip, Clive meets the master musicians of Jajouka and helps out on the farm, milking mountain goats to produce delicious jben cheese.
