Miniseries Plot
Hopeless romantic Gary Scant, a decorator from Nottingham, is on a quest to find real love. Close to his friends and family, and happy with this long-term girlfriend Melanie, life seems almost perfect. But when a night out with the lads takes an unexpected turn, he soon realises that the path of true love does not run smoothly.

1. True Confessions
Gary and Melanie appear to be the perfect couple. When Liz announces her engagement to Robbie, something changes. Melanie is unhappy that Gary has never proposed but Gary begins questioning his path in life and decides to end their relationship.
2. God Has a Black Heart
Gary is shocked to discover his disabled brother Michael has arranged to meet another disabled girl, Natassha, for sex. During his 21st birthday party, Gary, Kevin and Paula combine to help the couple meet without his parents knowing.
3. The Lost Child
Gary and Paula are asked to be godparents to Floyd and Chantelle's baby. Floyd's mother Theresa takes a romantic interest in Gary despite their age gap.
4. Hooked on a Feeling
Sports club manager Harold befriends one of the regulars frequenting the bar and Gary decides to play Cupid. He enlists Paula's help, with disastrous consequences, and Gary makes an interesting discovery at the flat.
5. Turning Point
Gary realises he has feelings for Paula just when her new boyfriend Tony asks her to move in. Liz is pregnant again and Kelvin's sexual appetite is out of control. His world crashes when she catches him with another man in a public toilet.
6. Love Hurts
Paula discovers Kelvin's sexual behaviour and is angry with Gary for lying. Kelvin buys a puppy to win his children back. Tragedy strikes, forcing everyone to reevaluate their lives.
