10 Underrated Romantic Comedies You Have to Watch

So, you've seen "Pretty Woman" a dozen times. "Sleepless in Seattle" is on a constant rotation. You need a new rom-com in your life to get in the lovey-dovey spirit. It's time to give these lesser-watched gems a whirl.

'Zack and Miri Make a Porno' (2008)

This raunchy BFFs-turned-love-interests comedy is kinda like "When Harry Met Sally." With amateur porn. Don't underestimate Kevin Smith when it comes to writing romance.

'The Baxter' (2005)

You know the boring, yet totally decent guy in rom-coms, who doesn't get the girl in the end? That's a Baxter, and this is the movie that represents his plight. It's got Michelle Williams as an adorably awkward singer, Peter Dinklage as a hotshot wedding planner, and all the oddball quirk you'd expect from Michael Showalter.

'Definitely, Maybe' (2008)

Before he was Deadpool, Ryan Reynolds made a handful of romantic comedies, and "Definitely, Maybe" is one of two on this list. Reynolds tells tales of his dating past to his young daughter, as she (and we) guess who her mom is in the story. We still don't get how a 10-year-old wouldn't know some glaring details of her own mother's life, but we're willing to suspend all disbelief.

'Two Can Play That Game' (2001)

Everything you need to know about dating you can learn from the great Shante Smith (Vivica Fox) in this movie. This is basically a step-by-step rulebook for getting your crush to love you forever, even if you encounter bumps in the road.

'Just Friends' (2005)

If you're looking for something that captures the feeling of being in the "friend zone," "Just Friends" is just that. Underneath the silly gross-out humor and slapstick gags, there's a cute and relatable romance at the core.

'Fever Pitch' (2005)

You do not have to be a baseball fan to fall for Drew Barrymore and Jimmy Fallon's relationship in "Fever Pitch." If you've ever felt your significant other was just a tad too obsessed with sports, or some other exercise in super-fandom, you'll definitely relate to this Farrelly Brothers treat.

'In Her Shoes' (2005)

Even though there's some romance along the way, "In Her Shoes" is truly a movie about the complicated bond between family. You'll get a kick out of Cameron Diaz's adventures in retirement living, but prepare to have some tissues handy because stuff gets real.

'Prime' (2005)

People say age is just a number, but this movie explores what it's like for one successful 37-year-old New Yorker (Uma Thurman) to date a 23-year-old guy (Bryan Greenberg) who's just figuring out his life. Things get a little ridiculous (Meryl Streep plays Thurman's therapist/Greenberg's mother!), but there's some tender realism underneath.

'Crossing Delancey' (1988)

This is a charming New York story about a smart single city gal looking to settle down at the urging of her Bubbie. She gets matched with a fetching pickle shop owner (Peter Riegert) and, unexpectedly, begins to fall for him -- despite their differing backgrounds. Prepare to swoon.

'The Truth About Cats & Dogs' (1996)

An insecure vet (Janeane Garofalo) asks Uma Thurman to pretend to be her, since she doesn't feel attractive enough to land the guy of her dreams. Sometimes, in cinema, even the cutest relationships are built on lies, okay? This is a lovable, Cyrano-inspired comedy, especially because cute animals.
