17 Scary Movies and TV Shows Featuring the 'Haunting of Hill House' Cast That You Should Watch

'The Haunting of Hill House' (2018)

Craving more horror with the cast of "The Haunting of Hill House?" Several have already appeared in other Mike Flanagan films (see our ranking of all his movies). Together, they have an impressive horror resumé.

'Gerald's Game' (2018) - On Netflix

Carla Gugino is excellent (again) as a woman slowly unraveling as she tries to free herself after being left handcuffed to a bed. Strong, brutal stuff, also from Mike Flanagan (based on Stephen King).

'Hush' (2016) - On Netflix

Loved Kate Siegel as Theo? She's Flanagan's favorite leading lady (and wife). Here she's at the top of her game as a deaf woman fighting off a masked killer in this nail-biter, which she co-wrote. She's also got supporting parts in "Oculus," "Ouija: Origin of Evil" and "Gerald's Game." And that's Samantha Sloyan (Leigh, Steve's wife) as Katie.

'The Haunting' (1963)

Of course you should watch the chilling 1963 classic, which is much more faithful to Shirley Jackson's book and focuses on a group of paranormal investigators instead of a family. But you might not have realized that original cast member Russ Tamblyn appeared in the Netflix series as Nell's therapist, Dr. Montague. In this movie, Tamblyn plays an heir to the house who doesn't believe in ghosts... at least not yet.

'The Invitation' (2016) - On Netflix

In Karyn Kusama's slow-build horror film, Michiel Huisman and wife Tammy Blanchard welcome their old friends for a dinner party. But one of the guests suspects something far more sinister is going on.

'Ouija: Origin of Evil' (2016) - On HBO Go

Before they played adult and young Shirley, Elizabeth Reaser and Lulu Wilson were mother and daughter whose Ouija experiments go terribly wrong. Henry Thomas costars as Father Tom. (Nope, not even a priest can save everyone in this Flanagan-directed sequel.)

'Annabelle: Creation' (2017)

Lulu Wilson is only 13, but she already has Scream Queen status. Here, she faces off with the demonic doll and lives to tell.

'Masters of Horror' (2005 - 2007)

Henry Thomas appeared in the 2005 "Chocolate" episode of this anthology series. As in "Hill House," he faces a similarly uncomfortable police interrogation after meeting a woman whose visions he's been experiencing. Things, of course, go horribly wrong. On Amazon. Watch the trailer here.

'The Dark Half' (1993)

Timothy Hutton stars as both a highbrow author and his murderous pulp fiction alter-ego in this Stephen King adaptation directed by George Romero.

'Bag of Bones' (2011)

Annabeth Gish (Mrs. Dudley) haunts her novelist husband (Pierce Brosnan) in this two-part Stephen King adaptation. She's also in Flanagan's "Before I Wake."

'The Raven' (2012)

This movie -- in which Edgar Allan Poe (John Cusack) chases down a brutal murderer -- is a bit of a mess, but please enjoy Oliver Jackson-Cohen (Luke) as Victorian police officer John Cantrell.

'Dracula' (2013 - 2014)

Oliver Jackson-Cohen costarred as journalist Jonathan Harker in this short-lived series with Jonathan Rhys Meyers as the famous Count. On Amazon

'American Horror Story: Hotel' (2015-2016)

Anthony Ruivivar, Shirley's husband Kevin, played notorious serial killer Richard "The Night Stalker" Ramirez in "American Horror Story: Hotel." On Netflix.

'The Bad Seed' (2018)

Mckenna Grace (young Theo) plays a sweet little girl... who also happens to be a homicidal horror in this remake of the 1956 classic.

'Deliver Us From Evil' (2014)

In her first horror film, Lulu Wilson (young Shirley), has ample reason to scream when her toys start moving on their own -- and there's a creepy man in the hallway. This exorcism movie starring Eric Bana is "based on a true story."

'Absentia' (2011) - On Amazon Prime

Catherine Parker (Poppy, the ghost from the '20s) stars as a woman who thinks a mysterious tunnel may lead to her missing husband. One of Flanagan's first films. Parker will also appear in the upcoming "Doctor Sleep."

'The Unwilling' (2018)

Okay, it doesn't have great reviews. But if you're dying to see Levy Tran (Theo's love interest Trish) in another horror film, stat, this is on Amazon Prime.

'Celebrity Ghost Stories' (2009 - 2014)

In a very early gig, "Atlanta" star Jordane Christie (Nell's husband Arthur in "Hill House") appeared in the Jimmie Walker segment as a friend who got directions from a ghost with the "Good Times" actor. Watch a clip on YouTube.
