11 Teen Movie Couples That Made Us Believe in True Love

Tales of true love are all around us, but we truly learned about the subject from teen movies. Nothing ever seemed more romantic than two high school students from different cliques falling for one another, right? Here are 11 teen movie couples that will have our hearts forever.

Amanda and Preston in 'Can't Hardly Wait' (1998)

What all started with a strawberry Pop-Tart evolved into an epic romance four years later. Sometimes the quarterback-dating homecoming queen does end up going for the goofy dude in the layered tees from the honor society... at least in late '90s teen movie land.

Derek and Sarah in 'Save the Last Dance' (2001)

Anyone who helps you reach your full dancing potential is obviously a keeper. This duo's love connection was electric, on and off the dance floor.

Kat and Patrick in '10 Things I Hate About You' (1999)

He's a misfit who people think sold his liver on the black market for new speakers. She's a "shrew" who enjoys Thai food, feminist prose, and angry girl music of the indie rock persuasion. Together, they are one of the best couples ever.

Dionne and Murray in 'Clueless' (1995)

They bicker like an old married couple, but as Cher thoughtfully notes, "when they think nobody's watching, are so considerate of each other." Cher and Josh are alright, but Dionne and Murray are the best. We would so wear a little sailor hat to be a bridesmaid at that wedding.

Ferris and Sloane in 'Ferris Bueller's Day Off' (1986)

Ferris and Sloane are the '80s couple everyone wants to be. We'll always envy their unique fashion sense, magnetic joie de vivre, and ability to pack as many fun Chicago activities into a few hours -- even if it means skipping school and showing a general disrespect of authority.

Duke and Viola in 'She's the Man' (2006)

Their road to romance was paved with deception, disguise, and a really funny fake accent, but it all worked out in the end. How could you not love their story?

Jamie and Landon in 'A Walk to Remember' (2002)

Okay, so this one doesn't exactly have the kind of fairytale ending that makes you smile -- in fact, you'll prob end up in a puddle of your own ugly-cry tears after watching this film. Nevertheless, it's a tale of unconditional and pure devotion, no matter what the odds. Nicholas Sparks, you really know how to hit us where it hurts, don't you?

Cliff and Torrence in 'Bring It On' (2000)

Torrence is a cheerful cheerleader with spunk and Cliff wears vintage Clash tees and hates pretty much everything. They have the ultimate opposites attract thing going on and that's why we'll always root for them.

Danny and Sandy in 'Grease' (1978)

They go together like rama-lama-lama ka-dinga ka-dinga-dong. Even if that means she had to abandon her entire style and values to get his attention in the final scene. We kid, we kid! This musical match-up is iconic.

Carlos and Nicole in 'Crazy/Beautiful' (2001)

This teen movie got a little realer than its contemporaries, but amidst all the grittiness, sad moments, and bad behavior there was an honest love story that gave us warm and fuzzies when we least expected them.

Gordo and Lizzie in 'The Lizzie McGuire Movie' (2003)

Their relationship was like a G-rated "When Harry Met Sally" until the movie took them to the next level. It took a big screen adaptation to get him out of a three-season long friend zone, but, in our minds, these two BFFs are still going strong.
