9 Ridiculously Cheesy '90s TV Shows That Demand a Binge-Watch

Boy, do we love our '90s TV shows. But did we realize how incredibly corny some of the programming could be? It's time to open the vault and appreciate the over-the-top cornball entertainment of the past. Here are nine super cheesy series from the '90s that deserve your time.

'Blossom' (1990 - 1995)

The opening song. The many after school special plot lines. Those hats. "Blossom" could be totally corny, but we laughed and learned along the way. The Big Bang Theory" -- she has four Emmy nominations to prove it. In our "opinionation" (we know it's not a word), you should go back and watch her earlier work.

'Baywatch' (1989 - 2001)

In the words of Chandler Bing, "Run, Yasmine. Run like the wind!" Yes, there's a lot of running, but there are juicy storylines, too. This syndicated hit is '90s California cheese at its finest.

'Hey Dude' (1989 - 1991)

Sure, we could have put "Saved By the Bell" on this list, but we thought we should shine a spotlight on a lesser-discussed teen comedy series of the '90s. "Hey Dude" made working on a dude ranch look like the sweetest job ever.

'Passions' (1999 - 2008)

Soap operas have love triangles, mysterious murders, and amnesia, but "Passions" had actual warlocks. Not only did it pull all of the classic moves we're used to seeing in daytime TV, it also incorporated a supernatural element that took it to a surrealist level of constant WTF-ery.

'Perfect Strangers' (1986 - 1993)

From the moment that theme song music begins to play, you know this show is gonna be a trip. The concept is absolutely ridiculous and pretty much every joke out of Balki's mouth is cringeworthy -- but in a good way. Hey, if it's good enough for "The Leftovers," it's good enough for us.

'Xena: Warrior Princess' (1995 - 2001)

We know some of the costumes looked like they came from a Halloween store, and the campiness was often eye roll-inducing, but "Xena" is a total badass. No wonder a reboot has been in the works for a while now.

'Dawson's Creek' (1998 - 2003)

Face it, "Dawson's" fans. No matter how big the words these teenagers used were, or how influential the series was to the teen soap genre, or how many Oscar nominations Michelle Williams has gotten since its run, this The WB staple was a total sap-fest. And we love every second of it.

'Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman' (1993 - 1997)

We've seen our fair share of Man of Steel iterations over the years. "Lois & Clark" was like a rom-com/fantasy/superhero hybrid that oozed hokey cheese. Just picturing Dean Cain flying through the air, '90s TV special effects style, has us chuckling in nostalgic delight.

'Full House' (1987 - 1995)

We had to. "Full House" is like the poster child for cheesy '90s sitcoms. It's basically life lessons, hugs, absurd situations, and jokes about Jesse's hair on a loop. It's also a classic that was essential to both the era and the kids that grew up in it. TGIF, we thank you.
