8 Memorable Jennifer Lopez Rom-Coms, Ranked From Worst to Best

There are Hollywood triple threats and then there are humans like Jennifer Lopez, who are more like quintuple or even sextuple threats. The stunning A-list performer dances, acts, produces, designs, sings, and can call herself one of the greatest Carpool Karaokers ever. Plus, she ages backwards. The former Fly Girl has done quite a few romantic comedies in her day. Let's rank 'em from worst to best, shall we?

8. 'Gigli' (2003)

This notorious flop is still the butt of jokes about bad movies. Bennifer 1.0 couldn't save their much-publicized relationship ... and they couldn't save this mob comedy (mobedy? did I just make that up?) from being one of the biggest bombs ever.

7. 'What to Expect When You're Expecting' (2012)

Just because the "What to Expect..." guide to pregnancy is one of the most successful books of all time doesn't mean it had to be turned into an ensemble comedy. Is Hollywood going to adapt "Accounting for Dummies" or "Merriam Webster's Collegiate Dictionary" next? Not everything has to get the big screen treatment, you guys. It's clear that this jumbled dud didn't really, um, deliver.

6. 'The Back-Up Plan' (2010)

Of all the recent contributions to the popular sperm donor-com film genre, ("The Switch,"Delivery Man"), J. Lo's "The Back-Up Plan" is perhaps the most forgettable of the bunch.

5. 'Monster-in-Law' (2005)

We have to give this one a little credit for its campy ridiculousness and the fact that it also stars Jane Fonda as fabulously wicked newscaster out to destroy J.Lo (and Wanda Sykes as her sarcastic assistant). The premise is so wacky that its almost achieved low-key cult classic status. Don't rule it out completely if you're in the mood for something so bad it's OK.

4. 'Jersey Girl' (2004)

If you haven't seen "Jersey Girl," you should know up front that Liv Tyler is the film's true female lead and that J.Lo's part is teeny tiny and really sad. Like, why-are-you-doing-this-and-did-Kevin-Smith-really-direct-this sad. But despite the initial boo-hoos, it's a good rom-com that often gets overlooked. And George Carlin is in it, so there's that!

3. 'Shall We Dance?' (2004)

Any movie where the power of dance brings humans together is a movie you have to root for on some level. Bonus points if there's a big competition at some point. (Hint: There always is.) Who wouldn't want to see Richard Gere doing his best quickstep? J.Lo is the dance instructor/relationship fixer of our dreams, so we can't hate.

2. 'Maid in Manhattan' (2002)

This cheesy tale of a handsome high-powered politician who falls for the hottest hotel maid ever is a NYC Cinderella story we can't help but enjoy. Yes, there's a bad case of mistaken identity, and the title is a pun that barely makes sense, but OMG look they're all dressed up so glamorously at the fancy ball and he thinks she's a socialite but she's actually a maid but who cares they're about to kiss gaaaaah. Come on. Even the worst cliches are hard to resist.

1. 'The Wedding Planner' (2001)

It was inevitable that Hollywood would make a film about a beautiful and work-obsessed wedding planner who's in love with her client. The formula is pretty much gold, people. Sure, "The Wedding Planner" is totally predictable and everybody is making questionable decisions and not following their hearts until the last minute, but that's the rom-com way. Throw in Matthew McConaughey as a sexy pediatrician, and Judy Greer as the quirky sidekick, and you've got a pseudo-classic on your hands.
