7 TV Towns We Never Want to Get Stuck In

We hope we never find ourselves stuck in these totally creepy TV towns.

Twin Peaks, 'Twin Peaks'

The fictional Washington logging town of Twin Peaks is one Northwest road trip stop we would steer clear of. In addition to a murdered Homecoming Queen, this seemingly scenic locale is full of creeps, drug-dealers, pimps, and enough dark secrets to scare away any unsuspecting tourist.

Hemlock Grove, 'Hemlock Grove'

From the mind of Horror guru Eli Roth, Netflix's scare-fest is all about the twisted Pennsylvania town of "Hemlock Grove." In addition to brutal murders, the depressed hamlet's hospital and Institute for Biomedical technologies are known to perform perverse experiments. Did we mention there are also vampires and werewolves to worry about?

Eerie, Indiana, 'Eerie, Indiana'

You may have forgotten about this short-lived early '90s series  that revolved teenager Marshall Teller, who moved with his family to the small town of Eerie, Indiana. Turns out their new home lives up to its name, considering Elvis (he's alive!), Bigfoot, and more odd characters were also inhabitants.

Cabot Cove, Maine, 'Murder She Wrote'

The fictional setting for "Murder She Wrote" may look like an idyllic getaway, but in reality it's a total hotbed for cold-blooded murder. According to research done by BBC 4 in 2012, Cabot Cove would have the highest murder rate per population in the world if it truly existed. With more than 5 murders a year and a pop of around 3,500, that's 1,490 murders per million. Thank goodness for Jessica Fletcher.

Rosewood, Pennsylvania, 'Pretty Little Liars'

Sure, it seems like all the residents of Rosewood are ridiculously attractive and impeccably dressed, but that doesn't excuse all the craziness that goes down there. Everyone and their mother has a sinister secret to hide, plus, there are stalkers, constant unsolved murders, a history of car accidents, and it's adjacent to a mental hospital with a bad security system.

White Pine Bay, 'Bates Motel'

Another seaside spot with a track record of gruesome killings would be Oregon's White Pine Bay. The "Bates Motel" location also has crooked cops, drug wars, grisly townies, and its fair share of extreme violence. Plus, it's rife with family dysfunction and the accommodation options aren't exactly TripAdvisor friendly.

Jupiter, Florida, 'American Horror Story: Freak Show'

We don't want to go anywhere near the disturbing freak show that is Fräulein Elsa's Cabinet of Curiosities. A carnival is creepy on its own, even without stab-happy, terrorizing performers running amuck. One look at murderous kidnapper Twisty the Clown is enough to send anyone running in the other direction. (Good luck getting away though!)
