6 Things to Know Before 'The Walking Dead' Season 6 Premiere

After The Walking Dead" are no doubt wondering what's in store for Rick and co. on the upcoming Season 6 premiere, set to air on AMC this weekend. Here, we've compiled 6 things you need to know to prepare for Sunday's show.

1. There Will Be a Lot of New Faces

Alexandria is home for now, and that means lots of new neighbors that our survivors must learn to live with (or most likely, have lots of disagreements with). There will be plenty of fresh faces to greet them when season six opens, including Heath ("Nurse Jackie" star Merritt Wever), who picks up the medical care slack from the recently-executed Pete (Corey Brill).

2. Rick Is in for a Major Power Struggle

Just because Rick (Andrew Lincoln) convinced Deanna (Tovah Feldshuh) to let him take out the aforementioned Pete doesn't mean that the constable has won over everyone in Alexandria with his warnings about the dangers of the outside world. Dude still killed one of the community's residents in front of everyone, and that's not going to be easy to forget. And then there's the matter of the Alexandrians not exactly wanting some stranger to waltz in and immediately claim the throne -- and we can't imagine Deanna will yield her considerable power without a fight, either.

3. The Wolves Are Circling -- and Ready to Pounce

Season 5 introduced the Wolves, a roving band of baddies who may or may not be cannibals -- and are definitely dangerous. There's still a lot we don't know about them (how many there are, where they came from, why they're so freaking angry -- though we do have our theories), but what little we've seen hasn't exactly been encouraging. As the walkers they've branded inch closer and closer to the Alexandria camp, expect the Wolves themselves to sniff out our survivors -- and take down a few while they're at it.

4. Morgan Is Back, and Should (Finally) Get a Backstory

It's been a long time since Morgan (Lennie James), who at long last reunited with Rick in the season five finale, has gotten any substantial screen time, and we're dying to know what he's been up to in the years since the sheriff's deputy (and viewers) saw him last. Where did he learn those impressive bo skills? Why did he decide to leave his hideaway? What will he think of Rick after he just watched the constable kill another man in brutal, public fashion? We can't wait to find out.

5. Expect Plenty of Flashbacks and Other Warped Timelines

Like "Lost," or will viewers simply be lost? Only time will tell.

6. Domestic Bliss Isn't All It's Cracked Up to Be

As we learned from Carol's (Melissa McBride) Suzy Homemaker routine during the latter half of season five, it's easy to pretend to feel at home in Alexandria. But just how comfortable are our survivors, really? Everyone seemed to struggle with their new surroundings in season five; can they learn to accept this new reality, or will they continue to feel, as Norman Reedus (a.k.a. Daryl) put it in a recent interview, like "wild animals" in a cage? We have a feeling that there will be plenty members of our original gang identifying with that latter group -- and that can only mean more drama ahead.
