9 '90s Teen Movie Douchebags, Ranked By Douchiness

The late '90s spawned a slew of teen high school films, and there was one type that managed to be a staple of almost all of 'em: popular jerk. Here are 9 '90s teen movie douchebags, ranked by their levels of douchiness.

9. Elton, 'Clueless' (Jeremy Sisto)

It pains me to put someone from "Clueless" on a list like this, but Elton exhibits some less-than-savory characteristics throughout the classic film. Forget the way he adorably sings "Rollin' With the Homies" with Tai at the Val party when she gets knocked out...What kind of a guy won't date someone because of their economic status? Just the way he utters "do you even know who my father is?" lands him a place here. We're still down with the linen vests and The Cranberries fondness, though.

8. Aaron, 'Bring It On' (Richard Hillman)

Yes, "Bring It On" technically came out in 2000, but we had to include Torrance Shipman's (Kirsten Dunst) doofus BF Aaron here. He cheats on her, suggests hiring janky choreographer Sparky when the squad lacks a fresh routine, and he doesn't support her as cheer captain at all. In the words of Torr herself, maybe he's "just not boyfriend material."

7. Chris, 'Whatever It Takes' (James Franco)

Popular guy likes brainy gal. Geek likes hot girl. Popular guy helps geek get hot girl if he'll help him get brainy gal. Chris (James Franco) is popular guy in this scenario and he's your typical teen movie jock. He has little substance to offer, he treats women like secondary citizens, and he's just downright bleh. He's not the worst human, but he makes an accordion-playing Shane West look like a god in comparison. Do you think brainy gal and geek wind up together? Duh.

6. Guy Perkins, 'Never Been Kissed' (Jeremy Jordan)

Ugh. Guy Perkins. He's not your average teen movie douche on the outside because he plays guitar, wears flowing shirts, and seems sensitive. But honestly, this dude is horrendous. He's even part of a scheme to dump dog food on kind, math-loving Aldys (Leelee Sobieski) in order to publicly mortify her. Plus, he says things are "rufus" when they're cool and that's just dumb.

5. Steve Stifler, 'American Pie' (Seann William Scott)

Stifler is the sexist poster boy for overly enthusiastic beer guzzling frat boys everywhere. Let's look at the douche qualities, shall we? He refers to himself as the Stifmeister, goes out of his way to embarrass the less popular and more awkward Finch, and talks down to his closest friends all the time. When sexy exchange student Nadia comes to Jim's house, he convinces Jim to set up a live web cam broadcasting her without her knowledge. Uh, that one doesn't seem legal, Stifmeister.

4. Mike Dexter, 'Can't Hardly Wait' (Peter Facinelli)

"Huntington Hills High can KISS MY ASS!" Who enters a party like that and then shoves a cheerleader against the wall? Mike Dexter, that's who. This guy is total bully who makes four eyes jokes, says things like "I'm gonna kick everyone's ass in this room!," and he stupidly dumped Amanda Beckett (Jennifer Love Hewitt, at the height of her career) only to try to get her back when he feels like it. Do NOT confuse him with Liz Lemon's fantasy boyfriend, Astronaut Mike Dexter from "30 Rock."

3. Dean Sampson Jr., 'She's All That' (Paul Walker)

Dean (Paul Walker) is truly awful guy and a terrible friend because he starts to fall for Laney Boggs, the victim of his and Zack's (Freddie Prinze, Jr.) bet to make a "dorky" girl popular, as soon as people start to notice her. He then tells her about said bet, which humiliates her and betrays his buddy in the process. Then he aggressively comes on to her after prom. Also, he's really bad at bets because he chose Laney and she's obviously gorgeous and not a challenge in the slightest.

2. Joey Donner, '10 Things I Hate About You' (Andrew Keegan)

Joey Donner is an entitled, snobby, narcissist of the worst kind, and we just don't know what Bianca and Kat Stratford ever saw in him. He treats everyone around him like dirt, he drops girls after they won't sleep with him, and he only cares about his looks and money. And he needs to brush up on his vocab, because it's clear he doesn't know the meaning of the word pensive.

1. Sebastian Valmont, 'Cruel Intentions' (Ryan Phillippe)

Just look at that smug face. Sebastian Valmont isn't so much as a douchebag as he is a sociopath, considering he manipulates people and ruins lives for his own personal satisfaction. We do not care how cute he looks in that blue sweater at the top of the escalator while Counting Crows plays sweetly in the background -- this psycho and his self-serving conquests borderline on the criminal. We won't spoil the ending for you, but things don't end up too great for him...Cue The Verve's "Bittersweet Symphony."
