The “Coming-of-Age Trilogy” is a loose thematic grouping of films by Hou Hsiao-hsien, consisting of A Summer at Grandpa’s (1984), A Time to Live, A Time to Die (1985), and Dust in the Wind (1986). While not connected through a continuous narrative, the three films are united by their focus on youth, memory, and the transition from childhood into adulthood within changing social landscapes.
