Plot
An old man Nakamura is driving back to his hometown in Hokkaido alone and on his way he meets a young girl named Akemi who has been deserted by her boyfriend after a quarrel over a trivial matter It is as if they are wandering around the world which has come to an end but the two get to know each other as slowly as Nakamuras car is going They come to meet a middle aged lady Shizuko who is running away with a large sum of money and an excop Goh who repeatedly attempts suicide and they spend a night together Homesick is a road movie set in late autumn in Hokkaido and it illustrates peoples homesickness with black humour
