Following on from the trailer that dropped during the Super Bowl, we’re getting our second look at ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’, which features, well, Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) and Wolverine (Hugh Jackman), finally, properly sharing the screen after (whisper it, we try not to talk about it) ‘X-Men Origins: Wolverine’.
Naturally, it’s a typically jokey affair, full of the sort of humor that Reynolds and the ‘Deadpool’ team have honed to perfection on screen, plus, as the man himself says, plenty of action

What’s the story of ‘Deadpool & Wolverine?

Though there is still no official synopsis for the movie online, we were primed to expect the franchise to address the fact that the Deadpool character can now be part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (following the last two being obviously set in the X-Men/20th Century Fox arm of Marvel).
The new trailer offers a few more details –– it’s still not clear whether this is the Logan that we’ve met in previous movies or some variant. There are distinct hints that it is, given the way Jackman is playing him, but him showing up in the comic book accurate suit would indicate otherwise.
And the promo appears to be pointing to the titular duo arriving in the MCU proper via a portal, plus, for some reason, a giant Ant-Man helmet.
Finally, Emma Corrin is shown more this time as the villainous Cassandra Nova, who in the comics is the twin sister of Charles “Professor X” Xavier.

Shawn Levy, who has formed quite the creative partnership with Reynolds, is in the director’s chair for the new movie. And he’s confident it won’t just be a ‘Deadpool’ movie that has Wolverine as a guest star.
Here’s Levy’s comment to Screen Rant:
“It’s the third Deadpool movie, but it’s not ‘Deadpool 3’. It’s a different thing that’s very much Deadpool & Wolverine. And it’s not trying to copycat anything from the first two movies. They were awesome, but this is a two-hander character adventure.”

Is this your first experience of Deadpool footage? There are, of course, plenty of references –– in fact, the first scenes of the trailer are a callback to the original 2000 'X-Men' movie, with Logan in a bar.
We also spotted the giant, crashed 20th Century Fox logo where Logan and Wade are battling what appear to be TVA troopers.
And in one shot, behind our heroes is the shop front of Liefeld’s Just Feet –– a reference to Deadpool’s comic book creator Rob Liefeld and his infamous issue with drawing proper feet in the books he’s illustrated.
Plus, there are continued jokes at Marvel’s own expense, including the run about cocaine that “Kevin Feige” won’t let them do.
