Dick Ramsay is a cracksman and burglar His wife Jane is a good woman and tries to persuade her husband to give up his dishonest ways They have one child two years old Bobby One night before going out on a job Dick makes a present to the child of a lucky sixpence with his name engraved on it hung on a silver chain Jane does not want the child to have it at first but Dick declares he has had it made for the child He then bids them goodbye A few days later Jane receives a letter from him saying that he has been caught in the act and sent to prison for a year
